Early 2003

Citizens Police
Academy Alumni
Association

The Brockton Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association held their first meeting in a very long time February 20th, 2003 here at the Brocton Police Department.

There were 45 very excited participants present. After a brief introduction the meeting got down to business.

Some decisions were made:

  • Where to meet in the future. (there is not enough parking at the police station). It was decided that the Arnone School would be the place.
  • When to meet: March 20th, 2003
  • How often to meet: once a month

Some of the activities the attendees expressed interest in were:

Participating in existing public safety events already taking place,
      such as:
  • National Night Out Against Crime
  • The Public Safety Booth during the Brockton Fair
  • Week of the Child Events
  • Police Athletic League
  • Fundraisers for DARE and like programs
  • Collaborate with Academy Alums from other communities.
  • Etc.

Planning will start for some Social Activities as well, such as:

  • A Family Fun Day
  • A Cook Out
  • Brockton Rox Games
  • A Whale Watch
  • Etc.

Any Citizens Police Academy Graduates are invited to join us at our
  next meeting.
