in the back seat.
(I wonder if he's wearing a seatbelt)

This picture is not dated but I'll say 1910 too. It
looks like the same car and same driver. Note: the
winter cloths and no leaves on the tree in the
background, yet the roof is down.
And we complain when the heater isn't just right...

Oops, sure glad I wasn't driving, this Officer probably
was
assigned to a walking beat from then on.

During the 1800's and early 1900's the City of Brockton
would hire additional police officers to work at the
Brockton Fair. They were known as the Fair Police and
wore different badges then the City Police.
Above are 5 Fair Police Officers, Standing to the right
is Philip King.

Police Officers Line of Duty Deaths

on Officers name to link to that Officer's Memorial
Page.
This page is brought to you by the Brockton Police
Relief Association in memory of the four officers who
have died in the line of duty. The Brockton
Police Relief Association was formed many years ago by
the police officers with the help of Judge Prince. The
intent of the B.P.R.A. is to provide a benefit for the
survivors of sworn members of the Brockton Police
Department. It originally started out as a fund to
provide for the burial of any member who passed away.
It also provides a small stipend if a police officer
is injured and unable to earn a salary. |
